【Message from John】
Dear Qajaq Japan participants. Thank you for the invitation, it will be a great hounor for me, to show you how our ancesters built their Qajaq's with the use of very simple and few tools.
The only thing you need to bring with you, is your interest and a few tools (tools will be available at GUTS). Try to imagine building a Qajaq a few hundred years ago, we still use the old techniques, nothing has changed. They didn't use fine computer animations, angle/milimeter-tools and battery operated equipment. Actually a Qajaq-frame can be made with just one tool: a knife! But to save time, we will use some of the "forbidden" tools......(we also do that in Greenland, hahaha....).
The final result for you, will be: "Now I know how to build a Qajaq". Next step will be: building your own Qajaq, with all your OWN spirits in the, holes, beams, lashings. A creation that you can be proud of, an extension of your limbs that will enable you to move around the seas.

【Meals】
Please prepare or cook meals by yourself. We will open the kitchen of the inn so you can use it freely. And we will guide you to the nearest supermarket. In addition, you can cook on the terrace by barbecue set. Let's share the cuisine made by each person. And of course, everybody will welcome your treats.
【Roll Classes】
We are scheduling this class early in the morning of 6th, early in the morning and evening of 7th , and early in the morning of the 8th. We will set up "beginners" and "intermediate or higher" classes respectively. If you have a request, please write it on the entry sheet. We will respond to it as much as possible.
